1988 Mercedes T2 709d reluctantly for sale.
Very hard decision as this was my dream vehicle for a long time!
This truck is fully kitted out for, and has literally been around the world, it’s ready to do it all again and needs nothing to do it!
It’s equipped with the original and bomb-proof OM364 non-turbo engine, if you know your Mercedes you will know this engine is very capable of over 1 million miles and can be worked on very easily. It’s slow, but super powerful and has taken the truck over many mountain passes with no problem due to no expense spared on maintenance. Current mileage 300k.
The van has been restored a couple of times including painting and has a chassis that looks like new! There’s no rot on this van and it will last years as it is.
It is fully kitted out for overlanding / living off-grid and Arctic conditions.
Mot is near so it will have a full 12 months mot for the new buyer.

The Mercedes T2 709d van is plated at 6.6 tonnes and weighs roughly 5.2 tonnes when fully loaded for a long trip with spares etc, I’m happy to go weigh it again if needed.
You will need a C1 license to drive it, some people have this without an extra test due to ‘Grandfather Rights’
It’s a motorhome on the logbook and is tested as a class 4 MOT so no special HGV tests and no tacho required.
It’s a 1988 and in a year or so will be classic tax etc so although it runs and drives amazing, you’re not looking at a new van, it’s got a few marks and some bits both outside and in could do with a tidy but in general I’ve not seen many of these in as good condition due to no expense spared on maintenance and upkeep.
