These Terms apply to the Off-Grid Home Research Service provided by Homes Off Grid (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the person purchasing the service (“you”, “your”).
By submitting your search requirements and purchasing the service, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms.
The Off-Grid Home Research Service is a remote research service designed to help you identify potentially suitable off-grid and alternative homes currently available on the market.
We research relevant online sources based on the requirements you provide, including your budget, preferred location, type of home, intended use and other requirements or preferences.
The service may be used to research:
The purpose of the service is to save you time by identifying and filtering potentially relevant options. We provide research and information to assist your own decision-making; we do not act as an estate agent, vehicle dealer, boat broker, surveyor or purchasing agent.
The service does not guarantee that a suitable home will be found or that any option identified will ultimately be available, affordable or suitable for you.
The £350 Off-Grid Home Research Service includes:
The number of options included in your shortlist will depend on your requirements and what is available at the time of the search.
We do not guarantee a particular number of results. We would rather provide a smaller number of genuinely relevant options than include unsuitable listings simply to make the shortlist longer.
There is no commission or additional purchase fee if you subsequently purchase an option identified through our research.
The service is entirely remote. We do not physically visit, inspect, test, survey or assess any property, land, vehicle, boat or other home.

Information included in the shortlist is based on information available to us from listings, sellers and other sources. We may identify information that appears incomplete, inconsistent or potentially concerning, but we cannot independently verify all information provided by third parties.
You are responsible for contacting sellers and carrying out appropriate viewings, inspections, surveys, mechanical checks, planning enquiries, legal checks and other due diligence before making a purchase.
The fee for the Off-Grid Home Research Service is £350, including any applicable taxes.
Payment must be made through the payment method provided on the Homes Off Grid website.
Your research will be added to our research queue once:
The £350 fee covers one research search based on the requirements submitted.
If your requirements change substantially after research has begun, or you ask us to undertake significant additional research outside the original brief, we may agree an additional fee with you before carrying out that additional work.
We will not charge additional fees without informing you first.
We aim to complete your research and provide your shortlist within 7 days of receiving payment and all information reasonably required to carry out the search.
The seven-day period refers to the research service itself. It does not guarantee that a particular property, vehicle, boat or other home will remain available during that period.
The alternative-home market changes quickly. Listings may be sold, withdrawn or changed while research is taking place.
If we need clarification or further information from you before we can reasonably begin the search, the research period may not begin until that information has been received.
If you purchase the service online as a consumer, you will generally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period beginning when the contract is entered into.
You can exercise this right by contacting us clearly stating that you wish to cancel. You do not need to provide a reason.
Our research service is designed to begin shortly after purchase and normally takes up to seven days to complete. If you would like us to begin the research before your 14-day cancellation period has ended, you will be asked to expressly request this at the point of purchase.
If you make this request and subsequently cancel while the cancellation period is still running, we may be entitled to retain an amount proportionate to the service we have provided up to the point at which you cancel. This may include research already carried out, assessment of potential options and work undertaken to compile your shortlist.
If the research service has been fully completed during the cancellation period following your express request, and you have acknowledged that your cancellation right will end once the service has been fully performed, your statutory right to cancel the service will no longer apply.
If you do not expressly request that we begin the service during the cancellation period, we will not begin the research until that period has ended.
If you cancel before we have begun providing the service, you will normally receive a full refund, subject to your statutory rights.
If you have expressly requested that we begin the service during the cancellation period and subsequently cancel before the service has been completed, any refund will be calculated in accordance with applicable consumer law and will take account of the proportion of the service already provided.
Because the research process involves both market research and the subsequent assessment and compilation of the results, the work completed cannot necessarily be measured simply by the number of days that have passed since the service began.
If the service has been fully completed, no refund will be due solely because you subsequently decide that you no longer want the results, subject to your statutory rights.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
We will use the information you provide to carry out your research and communicate with you about the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and sufficiently detailed for us to understand your requirements.
The quality and relevance of the research may be affected if important information is missing, inaccurate or changes after the search has begun.
We will handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We will not use your search requirements for unrelated marketing purposes without an appropriate lawful basis or your consent where required.
We will carry out the research with reasonable care and skill. However, the service is based largely on information supplied by third parties and information available online, which we cannot guarantee to be complete, accurate or current.

You should obtain appropriate professional advice and carry out your own due diligence before entering into any purchase.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for losses that arise from matters outside our reasonable control or from information supplied by third parties.
