Welcome to a difficult sale of our Zil 131 expedition camper “Diesel”. We have owned this camper for 8 years and never intended to sell. We have come to a road in our life where we are taking a different direction, hence the sale.
This really is a one-off camper and has been amazing to own and travel in, and is definitely a tough sell.
What it Has
This is not a standard Zil 131, it comes with a MAN 6-litre diesel engine and upgraded air breaks. I designed and had the exhaust stacks made to look and sound amazing. The camper turns heads everywhere and is definitely a conversation starter.
We are a family of 4, so the camper has a fixed double above a great den/TV room/bedroom for the little ones. If you’re a couple looking at this, then under the bed makes a great space to chill and watch a movie.
It is fitted with 450W solar on the roof and has a brand new 240amp hour battery.
The fridge freezer is amazing, it’s a Snowmaster classic; it’s a game changer and runs on 2.5amps.
The heating/boiler is a Truma 4e. Gas cooker/oven.
I had an underslung gas tank professionally fitted and signed off.
It has a 150 litre water tank.
The camper is fitted with a separating toilet.
There is a seating area with a table which folds down to make a spare bed if needed.

You will have so much fun with this camper! One of my favourite things to do is open the hatch above the bed and sit on the roof with a beer and watch the sunset next to the beach. I am going to miss owning this as I have poured my soul into it over the years, and really hope the next owner loves it and loves driving it as much as I have. The Zil 131 expedition camper was originally an ex-army telecommunications vehicle. It is a 1971 and is MOT and road tax exempt. It can be driven on a 7.5-tonne license and is left-hand drive.
